3rd Annual Saint Michael’s Ball
The Army Aviation Association of America’s Thunderbird Chapter hosted it’s 3rd Annual Saint Michael’s Ball on Saturday, February 21, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.The event was a great success and enjoyed by all of those who attended. The event included a silent auction, a POW Ceremony, and a Soldier of the Year presentation, which was given to SGT Lewis Griffin. Truly an outstanding event -thank you Thunderbird Chapter!

Loved ones gathered to show their support during a deployment ceremony as U.S. Army National Guard Soldiers prepare to deploy. The ceremony was held on February 15, 2015 at the Army Aviation flight facility at McEntire Joint National Guard base in Eastover, S.C. The ceremony recognized over 150 U.S. Soldiers leaving for almost a yearlong deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield under the 185th Theater Aviation Brigade. Pfc. Nick Baum, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-147th Assault Helicopter Battalion medic, earned the Expert Field Medical Badge at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, on February 9, 2015. Spc. Megan Almelia, 90th Aviation Support Battalion medic, also earned the badge. The Expert Field Medical Badge is the highest skill award a U.S. Army medic can achieve.
