DUSTOFF Demo


U.S. Army Col. G. Shawn Wells, Jr., Area Support Group Afghanistan Commander took the ceremonial first swing in teh demolition of Bagram Airfield Building 960. The more than 60 year old facility has housed U.S. Army MEDEVAC aviation units from more than a decade. U.S. Army Col. John M. Cyrulik, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade commander, and Col. G. Shawn Wells, cut the ribbon on the newly constructed MEDEVAC headquarters for the 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion.  These photos were originally found here.

The Sky’s the Limit


U.S. Army Capt. Brittany Pearson and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Damon Lappe are HH-60M Black Hawk helicopter pilots with Company C, 1st Battalion, 189th Aviation Regiment, South Dakota Army National Guard, at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Rapid City, S.D. 46 Year Veteran Pilot Retiring from U.S. Army Parachute Team


Mr. Aber, a native of Hayden, Colorado, has retired following forty-seven years of combined military and civilian service and 18,800 flight hours as an Army aviator. He was selected ast eh 2009 Aviator of the Year and set the team record as the longest reigning Team pilot in the history of the team. While servign with the Golden Knights, he spent 10 years on the team as a Warrant Officer and 16 years as a Department of Defense civilian.  Congratulations to Mr. Aber! South Carolina National Guard Fights Wildfires


The South Carolina National Guard provided support to contain wildfires affecting Pickens County, South Carolina, on November 10, 2016. SCNG provided helicopters equipped with Bambi Buckets, which can be filled with any available water to be transported and dumped on the fire. A UH-60 Black Hawk from Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 111th Aviation Regiment and a crew of Soldiers from the 59th Aviation Troop Command out of McEntire Joint National Guard Base in Eastover, South Carolina, as well as a CH-47 Chinook from Det. 1, Bravo Company, 2-238th General Support Aviation Battalion with a crew from Donaldson Field in Greenville, South...

Chief’s Final Flight


Chief Warrant Officer 5 Paul B. George celebrated his final flight as a U.S. Army aviator and his pending military retirement after 35 years of service to the nation. Cullen Promoted to SGM


A promotion ceremony was held for 1st Sgt. Shannon Cullen. Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Kevin Ferner delivered remarks to Soldiers with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 28th Combat Aviation Brigade, Pennsylvania Army National Guard and guests attending the ceremony. Ferner’s remarks highlighted Cullen’s accomplishments and professionalism. He also pinned the insignia of a sergeant major to Cullen’s uniform during the ceremony.
