10th CAB Donates to Local Kids


Check out this photo of Soldiers from the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade standing in front of their holiday gift donation for the Children’s Home of Jefferson County on December 9 in Watertown, NY. Christmas on Deployment


Sgt. 1st Class Tim Marino, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 77th Combat Aviation Brigade, deployed to Kuwait, was able to video chat with his wife and 3-year old daughter just before Christmas Dec. 24. Sgt. Maj. Carl Goss, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 77th Combat Aviation Brigade, and his daughter were also able to spend some time video chatting, just before Christmas Dec. 24. Veteran Warrant Officer Takes Final Flight


A New York Army National Guard C12 aircraft, piloted by Chief Warrant Officer 5 Robert Wold, taxis through a rainbow at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Latham, N.Y. on Dec. 21. The rainbow formed as Wold — a master Army aviator with over 5,400 flight hours in numerous aircraft — completed his traditional military “final flight” and taxied the aircraft through jets of water sprayed by Albany Airport crash trucks. Wold, a Ballston Lake resident and a veteran of the Iraq War, retires in January after 40 years of military service. These photos were originally found here.

Piloting Teens


Check out this video of 1st Lt. Zachary Johnston,10th Combat Aviation Brigade pilot and plans officer, talks to teens at the local Boys and Girls Club about what it takes to be a pilot, Dec. 9, 2016. Johnston talked about training and flying, but he also gave the teens advice on making decisions that allow you the most options in the future. Speaking to the teens: “Resilience is one thing I try to go everywhere with, and beyond that I try to keep a positive attitude.”

UAVs Provide Safety in Iraq


Soldiers deployed to Iraq from Fort Bliss, Texas, Delta Company, 2nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Army Division known as “Starfighters” prepare, and work with, RQ-7B Shadows, an unmanned aerial system, Oct. 20. 81st SBCT Associates With 7th ID in Re-Patching Ceremony


The Washington National Guard’s 81st Stryker Brigade Combat Team have recently adopted the 2nd Infantry Division’s Indian Head patch and revealed the new Brigade colors symbolizing the unit’s transformation from an Armor Brigade to a Stryker Brigade.  “This is a historic and proud day for the cascade rifle brigade.
