South Carolina National Guard Fights Wildfires
The South Carolina National Guard provided support to contain wildfires affecting Pickens County, South Carolina, on November 10, 2016. SCNG provided helicopters equipped with Bambi Buckets, which can be filled with any available water to be transported and dumped on the fire. A promotion ceremony was held for 1st Sgt. Shannon Cullen. Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Kevin Ferner delivered remarks to Soldiers with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 28th Combat Aviation Brigade, Pennsylvania Army National Guard and guests attending the ceremony.
