SCNG Army Aviation Facility at McEntire JNGB, S.C.


Check out this video, taken at the South Carolina Army Aviation Facility on McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C. where different support and rescue helicopters from South and North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland, and Tennessee were staged to support Hurricane Matthew response efforts on October 8, 2016. Approximately 2,000 SCNG Soldiers and Airmen were activated since Oct. 4, 2016.

Alabama Army Aviation Training Center Set to Open


CAE USA, a company that specializes in aviation training, plans to begin offering flight training to U.S.  Army Aviators at a training center set to open in Dothan next year as part of the company’s $75 million investment in the state. “Our new Dothan Training Center will provide the Army with a modern, flexible and cost-effective training solution specifically designed for the Army’s fixed-wing aviators,” said Ray Duquette, president and general manager of CAE USA. Here We Go!


Students from the DeGlopper Air Assault School, XVIII Airborne Corps, run through rappelling drills from a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter assigned to 2nd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC, on September 28, 2016. House of Heroes and Iron Mike Chapter Give Back


Former U.S. Army SPC Tarah Siekert served for 6.5 years, and has completed tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. She recently won the Stanley Build Your America contest, and received $10,000 worth of home repairs. Volunteers from the local AAAA Iron Mike Chapter located at Fort Bragg, NC completed work on the house on September 10, 2016 for Tarah and Zach Seikart. Volunteers from House of Heroes and the Iron Mike Chapter worked together to complete the home repairs.  Great job!

Change in Leadership of 122nd Troop Command


Col. Zachary E. Maner is the outgoing commander of the 122nd Troop Command, Alabama Army National Guard. Col. Roger A. Presley is the incoming commander of that unit. Maner begins his next assignment as the Chief of Staff for the 135th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Alabama Army National Guard. 100th Training Division Welcomes New Commander

Alaska Army National Guard Commander Earns General’s Star


Joseph Streff, who serves as the commander of the Alaska Army National Guard and the assistant adjutant general – Army, was promoted from colonel to brigadier general during a ceremony at the Alaska National Guard Armory on Sept. 21.  “It is a privilege to now wear this new rank as I serve as the Army commander,” Streff said. “From this day forward, we will continue to endeavor to make this a top-notch organization.” To read more about the ceremony and about BG Streff’s military experience, click here.
