On May 11, 2015 the Texas Army National Guard was called to help rescue two teenagers who were stranded in a flash flood on top of a pick up truck. The first rescuers on the scene attempted to carry life vests to the teens, but the current was too strong and the rescue mission was deemed too dangerous to execute on foot. That’s when the Texas Army National Guard appeared with a Blackhawk. Rescuers dropped down and hoisted the teens to safety. After over an hour of waiting on top of the truck’s cab to be rescued, both teens finally made it back on dry land. Great job Texas Army National Guard!
