Check out these awesome photos of the South Carolina National Guard recently receiving their first F-Model Chinooks.
U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Tommy L. Perry, Chief Warrant Officer James A. Pressley, and Sgt. Timothy J. Pinelli, (Det. 1) B Co. 2-238th General Support Aviation Battalion, 59th Aviation Troop Command, S.C. National Guard, deliver the first “F” model CH-47 Chinook helicopter to the S.C. National Guard, Army Aviation Support Facility (location 2), South Carolina Technical Aviation Center, Greenville, South Carolina, Aug. 4, 2016. This is the first of six CH-47F scheduled to be delivered to the S.C. National Guard in the next few months; the “F” version of the Chinook will replace the current “D” model as the primary heavy-lift, cargo, helicopter in the S.C. Army National Guard, both for combat-support and emergency-response operations. Specifically, the CH-47F is equipped with a fully integrated, digital, cockpit management system, in addition to advanced cargo-handling capabilities, thus enhancing the already remarkable operational performances of its predecessor, the CH-47D.
