Let us take a moment to remember the epochal D-Day invasion of Normandy 72 years ago that helped the Allies to defeat Hitler. D-Day can be considered one of the world’s most consequential battles. Approximately 160,000 American, British, Canadian, and French troops took part in the invasion of northwest France, known as Operation Overlord. Over 9,000 Allied forces were killed or wounded. The Allied landing led to the liberation of France and marked the turning point in the European theater of World War 2.
