Field Refueling in the Mariana Islands

Soldiers assigned to 1st Battalion, 52nd Aviation Regiment, and their CH-47 Chinooks (left) refuel AH-64 Apaches assigned to the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade during a forward arming and refueling point mission in Tinian, in the Northern Mariana Islands during exercise Forager 21, July 30, 2021. A FARP is designed to refuel an aircraft at a distance closer to their area of operations than their main operating base. Exercise Forager 21 is a U.S. Army Pacific exercise designed to test and refine the Theater Army’s ability to flow landpower focus into the theater, execute command and control of those forces, and effectively employ them in support of our allies, partners, and national security objectives in the region.
