California Guard Chinook Helps Fight Wildfires

caliguard1A California Army National Guard CH-47 Chinook from 1st Battalion, 126th Aviation Regiment, out of Stockton, California, empties water from a Bambi bucket to douse a wildfire in Shasta County, on August 18, 2015. The Chinook was just one part of an effort to battle more than a dozen wildfires burning in California simultaneously. In the photos one can see Chief Warrant Officer 4 Craig Hannon, pilot commander, checking his CH-47 Chinook prior to taking off for the mission. Shown in the group photo: Sgt. Kyle Reeves, Staff Sgt. Jason Hangaard, Capt. Eric Gomberg and Battalion Chief Mike Matheson from the Santa Clara Fire Department’s ALMA Helitack, Chief Warrant Officer 4 Greg Hartman and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Carlos Castillo. Great job California Guard!
