Brig. Gen. James C. Ernst, Lt. Col. Joseph W. Bishop, Col. Jeffrey L. Copeland and Command Sgt. Maj. Derwood L. Norris sat in the seats of honor during hte change of command ceremony at the North Carolina Army National Guard’s Army Aviation Support Facility 1 in Morrisville, N.C., on August 7, 2016. Bishop previously served as the commander of 1-130th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, and then became commander of 449th Theater Aviation Brigade and Copeland has been promoted to Chief of Staff for the North Carolina Army National Guard.
